Assuming you haven’t become familiarized with QR codes yet, picture this: An immediate and direct way of connecting with a particular product, service or web location through a quick, two-dimensional barcode-like scan using your personal smart-phone, iPad or Tablet computer. In the most simplistic terms, that’s the benefit of QR codes. There is obviously a more detailed explanation of how these codes can be used in the sign and graphics industry.
WHAT IS THIS THING?
The square QR code isn’t as complex as it looks. It acts as a link between one party’s intended information and the party on the viewing end. The black matrix pattern of a QR code stores information such as web addresses that can be tied into print ads, signage displays and more. Audiences exposed to the code are encouraged to scan the patterned square with a properly equipped smart phone in order to obtain and quickly access the stored information.
Some niches have caught on faster than others. That’s not to say that others won’t follow in using QR codes readily on signage and displays.

The real estate industry is a prime example. One of the neat things about it is that every listed house has a dedicated website with a QR code right on the ‘for sale’ sign for that house. You can place a code on the sign and someone can snap a photo and be brought to the website to get more information.
The code makes life simple for a prospective home buyer who wants to collect important information quickly while compiling data to make a crucial purchasing decision. Take this a few steps ahead and one might be able to see where these codes could become a valuable asset in more and more industries.
Just as intended, the QR code simplifies the researching and buying process for an individual. By getting information into a person’s hands easily and quickly, there are advantages to all parties involved.
You use can even use QR codes on your business cards to allow someone to scan the code and add all your contact information into their phone automatically!
Let NovoWorks help you integrate QR codes into your print, sales and promotional projects!

The old advertising expression, You have to touch your audience with ads 7 times before your perspective clients remember you, probably holds more true today than any time in the past. Advertising is bombarding people from everywhere and in or to truly stand out and get noticed you need clear, clean, effective ads to impress your company’s goods and services onto your perspective clients.
Consider that a vehicle wrap can provide your company with over 16 million targeted impressions per year, that means that 16 million times your ad is being seen by someone. If you live in a city with a million people (D/FW’s population is 6.5 million!), that means that you will be seen by everyone in the city 16 times every year. People will come to recognize your company, and they will remember your offering and when they need your services or goods.
The impressions you will get from your clients and perspective clients with a vehicle wrap is incredible, but only if your vehicle wrap impresses them with your brand’s message and design. The message you want to convey must be clear to be effective. You only have 3-5 seconds to impress upon the audience who you are, what you do, and why they should remember your company over your competition.
Vehicle Magnetic Signs have been a popular choice for small businesses for some time.

In today’s market however, magnetic signs are not something we recommend except in some very specific circumstances. The main problem with magnetics are that they are typically sized too small to really be effective, especially when moving. Our 50/50 rule comes into effect here. Most people will see your vehicle (and graphics or marketing message) from 50 feet away at 50 miles an hour. A secondary and more important point is that magnets look temporary, and unless you want your business to look temporary, do not give a very good overall impression.
A partial wrap or even a combination of print and cut vinyl graphics is much more effective in providing positive messaging. We would be happy to have the opportunity to work with you on a cost effective solution based on your specific needs and budget.
If you have decided to use magnetics, or already have them, let us provide a few key tips…
Preparing the surface for your magnetic sign

Applying your magnetic sign
Storing your magnetic car sign
Quick… you have less than 10 seconds to capture your audience’s attention, promote a brand and leave a lasting impression. Where do you turn? A vehicle wrap is an obvious choice for businesses on the go and can potentially reach an audience by the tens of thousands during each trip. But a wrap is so much more than a roadway billboard. From event promotions to a striking delivery system, many businesses are incorporating wraps into overall advertising programs that have audiences turning heads.
NovoWorks offers a wide range of signage applications, including banners, posters, trade show displays and vehicle graphics. In particular, Novoworks has worked closely with vehicle graphics, watching the wrap market develop into today’s application.

Recently, Novoworks partnered with Cousins Paintball, Dallas, to design a wrap for a business owning paintball stores and a paintball field in the Dallas area.
Cousins Paintball wanted to build awareness and decided to wrap its Scion xB, which potentially gains thousands of impressions during each delivery. Instead of running another nondescript vehicle on the road, Cousin Paintball’s Scion completes its deliveries—all while serving as a low-cost, effective advertising medium.
In most instances, the goal of a vehicle wrap is to increase the visibility of a product or brand. For example, in DFW alone it is estimated that a wrapped vehicle will receive approximately 55,000 impressions per day. The size of the vehicle, the layout and the colors create an end product that will grab attention to the vehicle and, thus, the brand.

Perforated window vinyl was originally designed to cover the windows of vehicles while allowing the occupant to see out and at the same time making the entire surface of a vehicle an advertising space. The same concept applies to storefront windows, which represent a huge amount of wasted advertising real estate.
It didn’t take long to realize the potential of digitally printed perforated vinyl on storefront windows to create a billboard-sized graphic at ground level, drawing potential customers directly to the front doors.

Perforated vinyl on store windows not only takes advantage of a large advertising space, but also offers privacy by blocking the view in while allowing those inside to see out. Since the vinyl is up to 60 percent solid, it also reduces light and heat, much like tinting. This effect is increased if the majority of the image is white or pastel colors.

Unfortunately, the view through the vinyl is reversed at night if the lights are on the inside (like window tint), and the saturation of colors on perforated vinyl is not as intense as on solid vinyl, but these are minor disadvantages when compared to the benefit of covering the building with high-impact graphics.
If you haven’t already investigated the possibilities of window graphic applications, you may be pleasantly surprised to find that your local ordinance allows for considerable flexibility so that you can showcase the goods and services offered your company with high-impact, see-through window advertisements.
